How I love the title of this challenge!!! The color combo- not so much, although the finished project looks pretty good. I love the new In Color Baja Breeze but am not a fan of Kiwi Kiss. Maybe it will grow on me as the year progresses. But, I will be breezin’ in Baja soon- so I had to play today!
I should be working on my “to do” list for our vacation. We leave next Monday and will be gone two weeks- so there is a lot to be done here at the house. Hubby has been suggesting? (a nice way to put it) that I go through the boxes in the garage, label, unpack, etc. so that we can get it cleaned out enough for my card-which we will be leaving here. So, I promised I would get to it today. All our traveling clothes are clean and now I need to iron a few shirts, pants, etc. I don’t know why cause they will just get wrinkled again in our luggage and I will be ironing the first day on the cruise….but, what can I say?, I do it every time! Tomorrow is Bible Study and I have a mani-pedi scheduled plus some last minute shopping.
Where are we going, you ask? We will be in Ventura, CA from Tuesday to Saturday morning visiting with brother and sister-in-law and their family. On Wednesday we will actually be in Solvang, CA, a great little Danish community and spend the night at the Royal Scandinavian Inn. It is a delightful little place. Then, on Saturday we will drive to the harbour in San Pedro to board the Sapphire Princess for a 7 day Mexican Rivera cruise. We love cruisin’ and haven’t cruised the Pacific coast so we are looking forward to a whole new cruising experience.

The inspection on our house in Nashville was yesterday and although the final results won’t be available until tomorrow, everything is looking good so far. So, one more day to wait…hopefully we will hear the final “all clear” tomorrow. We leave for vacation in a couple of weeks and it will be a great vacation if we are finally able to celebrate.
Today’s color challenge was similar to last weeks where we used gray and the new Riding Hood Red. This week we have added Always Artichoke instead of Green Galore. I really like this combo and thought about making another Christmas card, but changed my mind at the last minute. Once again I am using new stuff- the background stamp is new to me and the image stamps are two more from the wonderful Inspired By Nature set introduced in August. Hope you like it! (Still can’t get enough of the Scallop Edge Punch- it’s become a permanent fixture on my craft table.)
This is a 5X5 inch square card with the inside layer cut at 6″ and 1″ folded over the top panel and attached with the brads.
Supplies used: Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Le London Script by Stampabilities; Paper: Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Basic Gray, Always Artichoke; Ink: Riding Hood Red, Going Gray, Always Artichoke; Accessories: Pewter brads, Scallop Edge punch.
I know, this is a funky title for a card- but we are honoring Liz, aka LazyLizard, as today’s featured stamper. A well deserved honor and if you get a chance be sure to check out her gallery on SCS. I chose this card for my challenge offering today. I changed from a spring theme to a winter card by using different colors and a different image. I loved her sketch and found a big eyelet in Starla’s Stash and added some pretty Old Olive ribbon.
Supplies: Stamps- Fantasy by Penny Black, SU! Always, Scenery; Paper- Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Whisper White, Always Artichoke, PTI White; Ink- PTI Dark Chocolate, Riding Hood Red, Always Artichoke; Accessories: Old Olive ribbon, Gold jumbo eyelet, Cuttlebug Floral Screen Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Scallop Circle Punch, SU! Markers;
Thanks for dropping by and Blessings,
Yesterday’s Ways to Use It Challenge was to create a card with White gell accents. Well, I just love using my Signo gel pen, and wanted to use my new Eastern Blooms set from Stampin’ Up and came up with this simple Birthday card. I also used my Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist cardstock, ink and ribbon for the first time. I stamped some of the blossoms with the aqua first, but you really can’t see it on the photo. It gives a softer touch to balance the dark chocolate that is edged with the white gel pen. And, I love, love the new Scallop Edge Punch from SU!
Update on Nashville house: The inspection is on Monday, so please keep us in your prayers for a positive report.
Supplies: Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Inkadinkado (sentiment); Paper: Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist, White and Chocolate; Ink: Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist and Dark Chocolate; Accessories: Signo White Gel Pen, White brad, Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist Satin Ribbon, Wal-Mart White and Chocolate Satin Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals.
Everything continues to go well with the sale of our house and I want to thank you for your encourgement and prayers. The inspection is next and we are hopeful that it is soon and successful.
Today’s colors are very interesting- Going Gray, Riding Hood Red and Green Galore. I really wasn’t sure how to make these work since Green Galore isn’t my favorite-unless- you think Christmas! It’s never too early to work on holiday cards, so I pulled out a lot of brand spankin’ new stuff and got to work. I used my very favorite sketch and am quite pleased with the result.
Supplies: Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Inspired by Nature, Papertrey Ink Believe; Paper: Going Gray, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, SU! Bella Rose DSP; Ink: Going Gray, Riding Hood Red, Green Galore; Accessories: CB Forest Branches EF, Green gingham ribbon, Designer brads-Filigree, Basic Grey brad, Dimensionals.
Happy Friday!!! It’s so nice to be in my stampin’ studio again and what a neat Limited Supply Challenge today. Stampinsilvia’s challenge was to use a coffee image and the a shade of orange to celebrate the coming of fall. I pulled out my barely used Hot Stuff set from My Favorite Things and made a thank you card for a special friend. I am afraid I really didn’t limit the supplies, but it sure was a fun card to build.
Great news! We received another offer on our house in Nashville last night and are now in the negotiating process. We are reluctant to celebrate because of the previous sale that fell through and need your prayers that all will go well this time.

Have a wonderful weekend and Blessings,
Wow, I can’t believe how long I have been away from blogging and stamping! The wedding was perfect, Jill was absolutely beautiful! I will post some photos soon, but today I was determined to get a little stampin’ done with my brand new SU! stamps. The past two weeks were hectic- wedding, hubby had a little surgery, puppy is still recovering from surgery, lots of company and I’ve been spending time at church helping with crafts for the kids.
I just couldn’t wait to ink up some of my new silhouette stamps and I have had this design in mind ever since I got them. The color challenge this week was monochromatic (all shades of one color), so I chose a couple of favorites- black and gray. I embossed the image in black on Going Gray, then layered on Basic Gray and Black. Then, I stamped the sentiment on light gray vellum and layered over the image. I think it really looks sharp and hope you like it too.
Supplies: Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Nature’s Silhouette; Paper: Basic Black, Going Gray, Basic Gray, Light Gray Vellum; Ink: Stazon Jet Black; Accessories: Versamark, Ultrafine Black EP, Heat tool, Black brads, Gray Satin ribbon, Black GG ribbon, Dimensionals.
Many blessings to all of you,
