In Everything…1 Thess. 5:18
June 1, 2009
I love this verse because we can be thankful in every situation- thankful for the love and care of our Savior and thankful for our friends and family. This is a 4X6 card to fit in my Scripture box. The sketch is for a challenge for Stampin’ Out Alzheimer’s – a May project spearheaded by Jen Tapler and Susanna Boyd that raised over $6K in the campaign – donations by stamper’s and scrapper’s all over the web world. There were challenges and giveaways all month long for members. I am so proud to have stumbled upon this wonderful event. Here’s my Taylored Expressions sponsored sketch challenge card:

Happy Easter Flower Pot – TLC215, BVC09
April 6, 2009
Look at this cute little flower pot card! Today’s Technique Lovers Challenge included a tutorial by Stephanie Luman for this card sketch and I had so much fun “picking my bouquet” for my design. I admit I worked on it all day and enjoyed building the pot to fit a standard A2 envelope. Visit the SCS gallery and check out all the cute “pots.” I’ve included a pic of the finished card and the insert.
The sentiments are two of the Plain Jane singles from Verve Stamps. They are only $3 each and give a super crisp clean image. Love the Martha Stewart butterfly punch and all my bug die cut flowers.
This is the most important week in the life of a Christian – when eternal life was secured for all who believe, through the ultimate sacrifice by the Lamb of God. I pray that you are rejoicing in this wonderful gift.
Blessings to you and your family this Holy week,
Diane

I Thank My God – BVC09-March – SC219 –Blog Candy coming
March 13, 2009
Can you believe March is almost over? You really wouldn’t know it here in West Tennessee. The first of the month we were celebrating the biggest snow in 40 years, then just a few days later we were enjoying 75 degree weather and wearing sandals! We had freezing rain and sleet yesterday and today it is brrrrrrrrrrrrrr cold. But, our pear trees and forsythia are still blooming, along with the jonquils, the birds are singing, so Spring must be just around the corner.
I used this week’s SCS Sketch Challenge for my March Bible Verse card and this wonderful verse from Philippians:
I’m getting close to 15,000 hits on my blog and appreciate so much all of you who take the time to visit and comment. I am gathering up some goodies to give away to the faithful and will post a blog candy announcement soon.
Hope your week has been wonderful so far.
Blessings,
Diane

Filled With Joy – Bible Verse Challenge- SC188
August 6, 2008
Every day is Thanksgiving for me because of the wonderful things God has done in my life. But often times I fail to praise Him for the great things that challenges bring to my life. It seems I spend more time asking than thanking. My long time best friend Ola sent me this email last week. It’s a little long, but I was filled to the top after I read it. A wonderful example of our blessings.
WHAT HAPPENS IN HEAVEN
I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, ‘This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.’
I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.
Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.
The angel then said to me, ‘This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them. ‘I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.
Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. ‘This is the Acknowledgment Section,’ my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed ‘How is it that there is no work going on here?’ I asked.
‘So sad,’ the angel sighed. ‘After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments.’
‘How does one acknowledge God’s blessings?’ I asked.
‘Simple,’ the angel answered. Just say, ‘Thank you, Lord.’
‘What blessings should they acknowledge? ‘ I asked.
‘If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.’
‘And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity. ‘
‘If you woke up this morning with more health than illness … you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.’
‘If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation … you are ahead of 700 million people in the world.’
‘If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world.’
‘If your parents are still alive and still married …you are very rare.’
‘If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you’re unique to all those in doubt and despair.’
Ok, what now? How can I start?
If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.
ATTN:
Acknowledge Dept.: ‘Thank you Lord, for giving me the ability to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people to share it with.’

I have a wonderful life. God has blessed me with a wonderful husband, two great children, a sweet, sweet daughter-in-law and we are so fortunate to live close to parents, sisters, nieces, nephews- not to mention longtime and terrific friends. But, along with this wonderful family and life, occasionally we are “thrown a curve” and the peaceful life becomes one of worry and strife when illness strikes or family issues become problems. How wonderful to know that we can weather any storm through God’s grace and the strength he gives us to handle these issues in His name. Opportunities to share with others His power and love.
I chose this verse for June’s Bible Verse card to remind me everyday that He will guide my steps through all things- help me to choose the right words to say and the right actions to take. What a comfort to know I am not alone floundering in this uncertain world.
Supplies: Stamps, SU! Priceless; Computer generated verse; Purely Pomegrante, Always Artichoke and Whisper White cardstock; Ink- Always Artichoke; Basic Grey Scarlett Letter Designer Paper; Cranberry satin ribbon; Copper brad, Ticket corner punch and Corner rounder punch.
Check out the wonderful Bible Verse Gallery on SCS here.

Diane
I am so excited! Monday I will be traveling to Columbia, TN for a day of stamping fun with 4 other stamp addict friends on Tuesday. Leisa Jane, Cleo, my great friend and demo Lisa and her mom will be there. My new friend Cleo has invited me to stay overnight at her home and we are going to have great fun together learning new techniques, eating good food and enjoying wonderful “girl talk.” Each of us is bringing a project to share with the others and I have decided on these cute little Scripture boxes for our Bible Verse Challenge cards.
I found this great template on Sharon’s (no time to stamp) blog and will take supplies so everyone can make one. It’s very easy to make and looks so pretty filled with the Bible Verse cards.
The scripture is Psalm 119:105:
“Thy Word is a Lamp unto my feet, and a Light unto my path.”
Supplies I used:
Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Kraft, Ruby Red, Very Vanilla cardstock; Basic Grey Urban Couture Designer Paper; Scallop, Circle and Ticket Corner Punches, Antique Brass hardware, Chocolate Chip inkpad for sponging around the DP edges.

The challenge was created to help us memorize Bible Verses and we are to create a card or other item each month.
I chose to make 4X6″ recipe type cards and will soon make a little box to keep them in thanks to the great tutorial on No Time To Stamp’s blog. Anyway, here is the one for April.

Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla cardstock, Basic Grey LilyKate Designer paper, Chocolate satin ribbon, Primas and Antique Brass brads and a corner rounder punch. Computer generated verse and the Flourish stamp from Noteworthy.
